මම උසස් පෙළ පටන් ගත් කාලයේ, මගේ වාර විභාග වල ලකුණු තිබුණේ තිහටත් අඩුවෙන්. මට උසස් පෙල හැදැරීම නැවත්වීමටත් සිතී තිබුණා. නුවන් සර් තමයි මට උසස් පෙළ අතහරින්න එපා කියලා පැහැදිලි කරේ. ඉන්පසුව සර්ගේ පන්ති වලින් මට මගේ ගණිත දැනුම සෑහෙන දියුණු කරගන්න පුළුවන් වුනා. මම ගෙදරදී කරු ප්‍රශ්න පත්‍ර පවා සර්ගෙ papers බලන campus අයියලාට කියලා උත්තර බළලා වැරදි කියලා දුන්නා. ඒ පන්තියට එනකොට මට ගණිතයට තිබුණේ ලකුණු දහයයි විස්සයි. නමුත් අවසන් කාලය වෙන විට සර්ගෙ උදව්වේන් ලකුණු 80ට වඩා හදාගන්න පුළුවන් උනා. ඒ නිසා තමයි මට විභාගෙට භය නැතුව මුහුණ දෙන්න පුළුවන් උනේ. මගේ ප්‍රතිඵල එනකොට මට 2.23ක Z අගයක් තිබුණා, එයින් මට ඉතාමත් පහසුවෙන් මගේ පළවෙනි තේරීම වුනු කොලඹ විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයේ පරිගණක විද්‍යාව හැදැරීමට පුළුවන් උනා. නුවන් සර්ගෙ සහයෝගය නැතුව මට මෙතනට එන්න ලැබෙන්නේ නැහැ.

When I was starting my A/Levels, my first term test results had scores less than thirty.  Demotivated, I was going to quit A/Levels. It was Nuwan Sir who convinced me to not to give up on A/Levels. Afterwards I was able to improve my mathematics significantly by joining Nuwan Sir's class. Sir even checked and corrected papers that I did in my own time. When I was joining this class, My marks in mathematics was around 10s and 20s, but towards the end, with the guidance of Nuwan Sir I was able to bring that marks to over 80. Because of that, I was able to face the exams without any fear. When it was time for my results I had a Z-score of 2.23, with which I was easily got selected to my first choice university, University of Colombo to study Computer Science. I couldn't have made this far without the support of Nuwan Sir, for which I'm very grateful.
